Our Founder’s Story

Grace grew up watching women from the northern part of Ghana leave everything

they knew to seek a better life in the Ashanti region. Many arrived with young children,

no savings, and no family or government support. Some faced language barriers.

Most tried to survive by selling a handful of items in the market, without any business

skills, birth control education, or basic financial knowledge. Every day was a struggle

to pay rent, put food on the table, and keep their children in school.

These stories stayed with Grace. The weight of their worries, the quiet strength in their

eyes, and the way they carried both hope and fear deeply moved her. Even after she

became a nurse and wellness coach in the United States, she could not forget the

women she had seen working so hard with so little.

Out of this burden and compassion, Journey to Live Well was born. Grace founded

this organization to give migrant women the tools, education, and support they

never had, so they can grow their capital, manage their money, plan their families,

secure housing, and provide education and stability for their children. Through Journey

to Live Well, Grace is turning her lifelong concern into practical help, walking alongside

these women as they build safer, healthier, and more hopeful lives.
